Santiago Cirugeda, Onix, Tom Chudleigh, Baumraum, Terunobu Fujimori, and now Francesco Gatti, are only a few of the contemporary architects who have designed and then carried out a project for a tree house. In 2005 the first issue of the Dutch magazine Mark was published with the title “Let’s build trees!” showing a series of projects on this unusual theme.
For children a tree house is an extremely serious game. As with Lego and other activities which imitate a grown-up’s way of doing things, it gives a child the opportunity to physically compare his own world with that of an adult.
